What we have in a nutshell, is a masterpiece, an alluring feature of which, is its inherent ambiguity. In fact, the subject matter of the poem is a recreation of a persistent habit of Edward Thomas, who frequently talked about taking an alternative trail. The poem seems to underline the importance of making choices in our life and the way they affect us in future. Some may prove beneficial and some may not, but one cannot have two ways of life.
For example, the reader may miss all that Frost was trying to convey if the piece is hastily read through. Frost intended for the poem, ironically to be an example of how decisions were wrongly handled. If the poem had a lighthearted tone, then it would fail to create a connection with the readers because individuals can generally relate to literature if there is a cost at stake or emotions in play.

The aspects differ literary from the other kinds of writing.
He also uses this craft to develop his tone on line 1 of the poem, where it states," First they came for the Socialist, and I did not speak out- because I was not a Socialist. Niemoller use's short-precise words to give his tone more of a depressing and reflective feel. He prefers to use more quotes and longer sentences in his writing.
